Mary Murphy

Mary Murphy , CAPA Director of Dance (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, with Ballet Emphasis, minors in jazz dance and musical theater, K-12 Teaching Certification in Dance Education and Psychology.  Master's in the Art of Teaching.)  Mrs. Murphy has studied with Jurgen Schneider formerly of the American Ballet Theatre, Mme. Sulamith Messerer, former Prima Ballerina with the Bolshoi Ballet and most recently with Alanzo King of the San Francisco Ballet.  She has also studied with Modern Choreographers Eric Hawkins and Alvin Nikolais.  She has choreographed numerous musical theatre productions and has served as Director of Dance for the University Liggett Schools in Grosse Pointe, and as CAPA's teacher of Dance for the past 22 years.
