1. Do CAPA shows have assigned seating? Yes all shows.
2. Can I choose my seats? Sometimes. CAPA assigns the seating first come first serve, if you ask for a specific seat when you reserve your tickets online or over the phone and they are available, we give them to you. If you come to CHURCHILL on the dates when someone is selling tickets you can see what is available. A seating chart will be there) and you can choose. Otherwise CAPA assigns seating for the main auditorium in the following order; starting in the lower center section then the lower side sections, upper center section and then the side sections. Special accommodations are made for the handicapped.
3. Can I shoot my own video or record sound ? No - Video Taping and recording is prohibited. You are however allowed to take still pictures. Flash photography is not allowed!!
4. What time should I come to the show if I'm picking up my tickets then ? No later than 7:00 earlier if possible, Show starts at 7:30 sharp.
5. I want to be more involved with CAPA, I volunteered and no one has called me why not ? There are several different volunteer jobs for each show. Some of these tasks are needed early in the production others later. Some jobs get taken care of right away and the job you volunteered for may not be needed right now. Come to the next PROCAPA meeting and find out in more detail how you can help. PROCAPA meetings are held on the third Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Black Box the entire year (yes even in the summer). On occasion if needed that date will be changed with advance notice on this website.
6. Just what is PROCAPA anyway ? PROCAPA is a parent / guardian group formed by Ms. Mack several years ago to help her and the CAPA staff with the many tasks needed for shows and their production. If you have a child in CAPA ( Dance, Theatre or Voice) you are encouraged to become a member of PROCAPA. PROCAPA is seeking better ways to communicate with it's members and is always looking for ideas and ways to help promote CAPA and keep it a strong and vibrant part of the Livonia Public Schools.
7. I want to subscribe to the mailing list, is my e-mail address safe with CAPA ? Yes - CAPA will not share your e-mail. A new way of sending out e-mail to members has been adopted. Not even other members of the e-mail list will get your e-mail address from CAPA. Anyone who chooses to be removed from the list, will be immediately.
8. Where is the Black Box located ? The Black Box is located in the front of the building next to the Carli Auditorium at Churchill.
9. Where is Carli Auditorium ( Churchill's main auditorium) located ? Churchill High School is located at 8900 Newburgh rd., Livonia. Just north of Joy rd. east side of Newburgh. Carli Auditorium can be found as soon as you enter the main entrance to the school off Newburgh.
10. I have not seen any pictures of my child on the web site. Why not ? Livonia Public Schools requires permission of parents (The CAPA Contract) to be submitted by students signed by their parents before their picture will be on the web site. The webmaster tries to showcase as many students as possible. Early into the season, we have no pictures of freshmen, that is why they are not on the web site right now. (But they will be) As a point of information, Livonia Public Schools does not permit the posting of students names on the web site.
11. I have a child that would like to audition for CAPA but is afraid they won't get in because they have no prior training. How much emphasis is placed on formal training prior to joining CAPA ? Dance candidates need to have some ballet training, even if they get it just prior to entering CAPA. CAPA is more interested in attitude and desire than ones prior training. Remember you are joining CAPA to be professionally trained.
12. I ordered tickets online. How do I know CAPA received my order ? You will receive an immediate confirmation of your order if you placed an online reservation. Please check it for accuracy. You will be called back only if there is a problem filling your reservations request. (saving staff time) If you purchase your tickets thru Pay Pal you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Pay Pal. Your pre-paid tickets will be waiting for you at the box office on the night of the show. Keep in mind that if you reserve your tickets, you must pay for them by 12:00 noon the day before the performance or they will be returned to the box office for sale. We no longer hold un-paid reserved tickets on the night of the show. This became necessary due to the many unclaimed tickets CAPA had last year.
13. I ordered tickets online and received a confirmation. I want to order some more tickets. How do I let CAPA ticket sales know this is a new order and not a re-order ? When making a second request for tickets online, indicate on the order form that this is another order by you and not a re-order of the same tickets. (New - order)
14. My child is already in CAPA will she have to re-audition every year to stay in CAPA? NO candidates for CAPA audition only once to get into the program.
15. "If my child is in CAPA, can he/she get into an established University?" Answer: "Yes, CAPA is college preparatory. Many CAPA graduates receive scholarships to prestigious Universities. Check POST GRADUATE SCHOOLS OF CAPA GRADUATES.
